Hello all,
I recently applied Scott's GrubEx to my front yard using a brand new Scott's Classic drop spreader. I triple checked the settings and instructions and dropped the product. After finishing I realized that five-times the correct amount had been dispensed from the spreader. I contacted Scotts to determine if this was safe to my lawn, pets and children in the area.
Scotts recommended watering the area well (1/2" of water, about 30 to 45 minutes of watering) repeated 2 to 3 days later.
I had to ask twice if the lawn would be safe for children and pets under the regular timing. They stated after the product was watered in and the lawn was dried that it would be safe for reentry.
I thought I'd post this here since there doesn't seem to be much information on over-application of GrubEx available. Personally, I will not be using GrubEx in the future and am looking at the organic options as a situation like this isn't something I want to go through again.
