Bermuda Lawn Progress Pics

Here are some pics of the progress of my Bermuda seeding. Again, existing centipede was killed, soil was graded, front, sunny side and near back lawn seeded with Princess (4/16) and Sahara (4/24)Bermuda; shady side of house and far back lawn seeded with shade mixture; shady side of house plugged in low/wet area with Palmetto St. Augustine (5/10). It's been warm for several weeks now in this area with highs in the upper 80's. I let it dry out a little, but for the most part, it's been as wet as you see it below since 4/16.

The first three pics were taken around 5/1 and the rest were taken this morning. The side of my house with the line of trees and fence and the far back yard with the line of cypress trees gets only filtered sun all day. The remainder of the lawn gets direct sun light for at least 6-8 hours daily.

Any suggestions on how to help it grown in?

I would have thought that Palmetto st aug would be much better choice for the entire backyard. I don't think that shade seeds works very well in warm climate...

Honestly, I wouldn't mind having St. Augustine/Palmetto in the entire yard, but none of the local sod farms grow it. I bought what I've got from Lowe's for $1.50/square.

If you do the math, that's about $340/pallet!

So, for the time being, I've got to get as much seed to grow as possible. As discussed before, I've got slope issues, but sunlight isn't really a problem with the front, sunny side, or near back yard. In fact, I had many large limbs removed to achieve this.

They have Palmetto.

It's going to be a challenge to keep bermuda out of plant beds in the front yard. I've been dealing with that for a long time. They just will never go away once you grow them.

Did you even look at that website? There is one local sod farm growing palmetto in your own state.

TW will probably tell you that seeds for shady area is a waste... I am 98% sure... St augustine is best grass for shady area and pictures you showed looked shady but you never said just how much full sun throughout the day. Bermuda do best with 8 hours of full sun. It just seems a bit too shady for bermuda lawn. Also TW might tell you that Princess 77 may be a bad idea... not much of cold tolerant.... Just how cold does it usually get in the winter in Jackson, MS?

The only areas with sun issues are the far back lawn and the side with the Palmetto plugs. I took those photos at 8am and the sun is low in the east.

I guess I just wanted some feedback. I did this EXACT proejct one year ago with much more success. For some reason, I can't as many seeds to germinate.

Did you roll the seeds down this year? Have you had as much (or more) rain this year as last year?

You really are a candidate for St Augustine. With that many trees, bermuda will be thin and weedy. Even St Augustine will be a little thin in the back.
