This morning I was out in the yard doing some minor weeding. I did not realize it but there was a large ant mound in the bush and with in seconds my pants were covered with thousands of ants. Between my wife and I we were able to brush them off, and I did not get stung, (that I am ware of)

Is there a better way of getting rid of many ants? Spray them off with water?

I immediately dumped about a pint of ant spray on the nest, and will watch that it does not come back, but I have two grandson who are in the yard. I want to be prepared if they get in another big one.
