 o
Hybrid Bermuda seedheads?

First let me say that I know hybrid bermuda should not produce seedheads unless it is stressed. My question is how is my bermuda so stressed that it is throwing up seedheads. I have about 2700 sq ft of bermuda in my front yard and have about 500 sq ft with seed heads. The other areas do not do this. I cut it 5/8ths of an inch every third day with a reel mower, fertilize with 38-0-0 slow release every month, water at least 1 inch (prob closer to 1.5in) every week. Also did a soil test last fall which showed a ph of 6.4. Ph may be a tad low but not enough I would think to stress the bermuda. Any idea why this could be happening. Could too much water or fertilizer cause this issue?

They just do that this time of year. It'll quit soon.

Most likely cause is the early spring followed by cool temps.

Is it a hybrid seeded variety or was it sodded?

I also mow my lawn with a reel mower and use high nitrogen fertilizer and I still get some seedheads. Even hybrid bermuda will get them, however, the seeds will be inert. Give it a couple of weeks and they'll go away.
