| I am on the market for a lawn tractor. I have about 2-3 acres to mow. Nothing complicated other than size. I'd also like to get a mower that is capable of being used as a light duty tractor to spread manure, fertilizer, etc. I'd like to stay under 3k if possible.
Anyone have any ideas? Ones you recommend? Ones you would say to avoid? |

| I have a John Deere LX300 42" Mulcher that is just outstanding. It hovers just around 3K though. Well worth it if you plan on having it long term and taking care of it. |

| Well what you are looking for is a Lawn Tractor, not Riding Lawn Mower. Best Bang For the Buck is the Sears Craftsman model 28856. It is a 42 inch deck, hydrostatic Drive, 24 HP twin cylinder and cost $1700. Other Brands to look at are Top Rated Cub Cadet and John Deer but they will be much higher price. |
