 o
Compost Crop for Lawn?

Posted by benjohnson 5 (My Page) on

I have a 3/4 acre yard. About 1/3 of it is very weedy - probably 95% weeds. I'm thinking about planting a cover crop this fall - something that might smother out the weeds in the spring? Does anyone have suggestions for this? I've been reading various articles and it seems that this is used mostly for gardens. I thought I might plant something this fall and then in the spring, mow it under and plant something like buckwheat - after that double dose, maybe I could start to regain control again? Thanks in advance....

Mow it under? What does that mean?

Dutch white clover is a great cover crop for a lawn. Of course it is a weed but so is anything else you might want to plant.
