I'm surprised they dug. Usually utilities use what's called a
"torpedo"....a method to go through earth like the military thing which carries a line or tubing to a specified spot where it is stopped and digging is carried out there---usually at the foundation. It is often used to go 'under' a roadbed so that the road doesn't have to be dug which would interfere with traffic.

Any time earth is dug to put in tubing.....the soil is put back with a mound showing which, after a time, settles and the earth can be then topped with soil, or levelled with a roller.

To be fair, give the lawn a bit of time before calling them.
You could, if the look of the lawn, disturbs you, call them and suggest they come back and roll your lawn.
Consider too, doing an overseeding of the area to avoid possible scars.
Overseeding a lawn in spring is always a good idea anyway.

I think I used the wrong terminology.

I am sure they use the torpedo method & since they did have to cross under our front walk way.

We will start the over seeding this weekend & hopefully limit the potential damage.
