New sod looks kind of yellow, is it dying?

Got some sod laid couple days ago. Been watering it twice a day. It looks kind of yellow. There is green on the top but underneath there is a lot of brown, yellow looking dead grass. Is this something to worry about? I thought sod was supposed to be lush and green when it was laid. Help!?

Sod is supposed to look lush and green...when it is fresh and installed within 24 hours of being cut from the farm. Was your sitting on pallets for any length of time? Sometimes the edges can dry out and that's what it looks like.

If the sod is Kentucky bluegrass it will recover. If the sod is fescue, it will probably recover.
