Sodding over tree stump

As part of my lawn renovation last year, I ground down a tree stump in my front yard, dug out the wood chips and filled the hole with compost. I then laid sod down throughout my front yard. It has settled in nicely and is a very healthy, thick lawn this year, except for where that tree stump was. The grass around where the stump was doesn't grow very high, and browns easier in the summer.

I'd like any advice, as I'm about to do the same thing in my backyard with a tree stump that was about 6 ft in diameter.

Anyone know if there is anything I can do to make that area as healthy as the rest of my yard? I'd rather not tear up that area again and replace the soil. It's not that bad yet. I don't have a lawn care schedule going yet, but I feel like I should be treating that spot differently than the rest of my yard.
