Spot Repair/Mowing Question

NE Iowa. Several dead spots in a mostly KBG lawn. I mowed as low as the mower would go, added some compost & put down KBG with a little rye. Do you let the surrounding grass grow without mowing until the spots fill in? If I mow (established grass is getting tall), itÃ¯Â¿Â½s going to be hard to avoid mowing over the new seed too. Thanks

KBG will fill in dead spots without adding more seed, but since you already seeded.... You should be mowing at or near your mower's highest setting for KBG. At that height mowing over the seeded spots should make no difference to anything.
