Educate me on hybrid Bluegrass

This is what is available to me locally.

The one that intrigues me is the supreme sports mix. Does anybody know anything about hybrid bluegrass?

Hybrid bluegrass is a cross between Kentucky and Texas Bluegrass. It is coarser than Kentucky, but it has better heat and drought tolerance. It spreads via rhizomes. Being in Northern Michigan I'm not sure why you would use a hybrid since regular KBG has a much better overall quality and appearance. Hybrid bluegrass was developed for areas with long hot summers, with periods of drought and I'm not sure how it does in a northern climate with cold winter temps and long periods of snow cover.

Did you see anything worthwhile on that link. It isn't great or that specific though. Wish I could do better. I don't have many options here. I am not sure on the ratios of the other seed mixes. Guess I will have to call.

Without knowing what cultivars are in those blends and mixes, it is anyone's guess how good they are. You can always buy seed online and have it sent to you.

I called and got the composition of that premium sunny mix. Tell me what you think.

19.61 KBG, 14.47 BlueChip + KBG, 12.16 Park KBG, 9.57 Pennlawn Creeping Red Fescue, 9.3 asp1001GL Perennial Rye.

Where are some good places to purchase seed online?

Meh. No real reason Creeping Red Fescue should be in a premium sunny mix. KBG cultivars are older, midpack performers. I also don't like mixing perennial rye with anything, but that's just me.

Pawnee Buttes, The Hogan Company, Williams Seed, Seed Superstore (but very, very, very pricey), Oliger's seed, Hancock Seed, etc., etc.

That's me, too. Rye ruins everything (at least in a cross mix).
