Grass Type

My husband and I just bought a new house and inherited an awful lawn. It was overrun by weeds and this really ugly patchy grass that is very hardy and spiky. When we sprayed for weeds a new type of grass grew in the bare patches. It's really pretty, but I don't know what it is. It's really velvety with thin leaves, but they're fairly broad and taper at the ends. The underside of the leaves and the stems are moderately hairy. Can you help me ID it?

RE: Grass Type

Maybe nimblewill. A perennial grass usually considered a weed.
