please help identify lawn weed/grass

Hello, I've looked through many posts in this forum and tried to identify what this is but I am at a loss. As you can see from the picture, that particular type of grass/weed seems to be taking over the lawn, anyone have any idea what it is and what the best way is to get rid of it? Careful application of glyphosate to avoid spraying the surrounding grass?

The weed is dallisgrass. If you are in SoCal zone 10 the grass could be almost anything, because just about any grass will grow well there. Do you ever see seed heads on the grass?

If you find seed heads to take picture of, the pictures of grass are better when taken in shade or under cloudy skies.
