 o
weed control...

I have never done anything with my lawn. We live on a farm, and just have too many other things that need to be done. But, I'm getting really tired of the weeds in my yard...during these times with no rain and brown lawns, the weeds come up beautifully, and I have to mow just to mow the weeds down.

I'm considering use of a weed & feed type thing....don't believe I've ever fed my lawn either! Do these things work, or is there something else I should consider to get rid of my weeds? We have a large yard (like 2.5 acres) so will have to divide it up into chunks to get it all done. May go to Farm & Fleet today just to see what products are out there, and what they cost.

Totally new to this, but am SO tired of the weeds!

You can use medicine to control the growth of weeds. If you want it less expensive, mow it.

Weed and feed products are a waste of money. If you want to fertilize, get a fertilizer. If you want to kill weeds, do something else.

It does not sound like your "lawn" is irrigated. Is that correct?

Where do you live? Zone 5 is generally cool season but if we knew where you lived we'd know more about your soil and climate.

How much are you willing to do? Are you willing to water 2.5 acres once a week? Are you willing to fertilize it 3x per year?

Do you know what kind of grass you have now? Some grasses are considerably higher maintenance than others to keep weeds out and make them look nice.
