Lawn is suddenly dying after months of perfect growth

Last season I laid sod down in my back yard and the entire spring it was growing beautifully, really green and thick. It was really healthy, I had been fertilizing it and it was growing great. We had lots of rain this spring and I have been mowing it long to keep it healthier. In the past week some dead spots appeared and now in less than a week the areas are completely dead and even look to be spreading. Please help!!! :(
