And no you do not need to cover the seed. You need to ensure the seed is in good contact with the surface of the soil. Rolling does that. All you need to do is press the seed down into the soil - you don't need to bury it. But again, don't throw more seed. That just goofs things up. In a month you will look back at this and slap your forehead for asking such a thing.

Once you cut back to watering once a week your ground will dry out and not get soggy. Still, consider getting different heads for your sprinkler system.
