| We moved into a new house where as the front yard lawn was completely dead. The neighbors told me that the lawn was zoysia and both my house the next door neighbors zoysia lawns both died. The adjoining neighbors lawns were not zoysia and are thriving great.
I want to start a new lawn and have tried to see with fescue but it seems to keep dying off I am looking for a professional recommendation of a company in my area that can determine what needs to be done to obtain a great lawn |

| I'm not a professional but here's my advice. First step is get a comprehensive soil test (www.loganlabs.com $20 basic soil test). Next step, don't try to seed tall fescue in the spring or summer. It is a cool season grass, and needs to be seeded in late summer/early fall when the heat and humidity break. Most people's lawns/seedings fail because they don't provide enough water. If you're not going to provide enough water to your lawn then you are wasting your time and money. Grass is a plant, you water plants if it doesn't rain enough. Most of the professional lawn care companies don't tailor their program to suit your needs, they follow a set list that is usually not ideal. A lot of advice you receive from friends and neighbors is generally incorrect. It's not their fault, just what they were taught. |
