Recommendation for a fertilizer spreader?

Greetings all ...

Early April or so, I purchased a Scott's "classic drop" spreader to give my new sod (installed 10/13) its first feed. On the advice of the turf farm, I used 16-16-16 (Hyponex).

The results overall were good. I calibrated the spreader, and then just to be cautious made what I thought would be a first pass at about half the recommended setting. Even with that cautious application rate, however, I barely had enough product! I note too there are maybe fifty or so very green patches in the 6000 sf of lawn. Not a terrible result, but not a great one either.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a push spreader that's accurate and reliable? I'd like to keep the purchase under or around a hundred bucks. Not to speak ill or anything, but ... I'm not enthusiastic about the Scott's classic drop model.

Thanks!

Thank you for the thumbs up on Earthway. I took a look at the informative website, and it turns out a local hardware store sells the brand. Will check it out today. Thanks again!
