| Just got soil test results back from Texas A&M, with the only recommendations being nitrogen additions (zones needing from 0.2-0.6 lbs/1000 sq ft.) and the recommendation to not add anything with phosphorous for quite a long time because those levels are very high. No recommendation was made for the pH, however, which ranged in the samples from 7.6-7.9. I have Celebration Bermuda that was sodded in early April. Along with my nitrogen, should I do anything to reduce the alkalinity of the pH? Also, any advice on what kind of nitrogen I should add (quick v. slow release). And, are there any particularly pet friendly products out there for any of these needs. We have a 3 month old golden retriever puppy who I've trained not to dig but who still loves to roll around and rub his nose in the grass.
Thanks, Thomas |

| Not sure if anyone still on here does soil analysis. Maybe tiemco? You should post the soil test results with the CEC and Cations and base saturation %s it A&M fave you those results. dchall and texas-weed are familiar with warm season grasses and they can probably help too. |

| OK yeah your PH is a bit high but nothing to worry about at this point IMHO. Best way to deal with it is to use a urea based fertilizer. YOu are in DFW so there are a lot of John Deer Landscape dealers in town go buy a product # 000777 a 39-0-0 slow release urea fertilizer. Apply 3-lbs/Kft2 every 30 to 45 days up until the end of October. |
