Your installer is right. You have to water it for a shorter time 3 or 4 times, evenly spaced. You can't let the roots dry out. If the roots dry they die. Our lot was sodded and the builder watered 4 times a day for about 15 minutes.

I looked at your pix and the installer did a horrible job and the landscaper should repair the sod on his dime.

I could have gotten better results than this professional landscape got and I've never laid one square of sod in my life. And a lot of that sod looks like it should have been rejected by the landscaper at the sod supplier. I mean what is the landscaper being paid for here? To create an expensive repair job in your yard?

Then the landscaper should be fired.

It was browned in areas on the day of the install like I stated.

Sorry, you should have refused delivery and the gaps when they laid it out. No excuse really. If anything the sod is recovering from your help. You'll still need to do something about those gaps. And you still need to fire the landscaper.

Yeah, I'm not very happy at this point. I just wrongly assumed that sod may be a bit brown from the shock of being dug up and transported. I'll keep watering it constantly and hope it starts to come back in the next few days. If not, I'll be in contact with the landscaper again.

I'll will take a month at least but 2 good rain storms a week will do much better than all the watering in the world. Unfortunately we are heading into July & August.
