Liquid Chelated Iron

I'd like to give my lawn a boost in greening. We've had alot of rain this June and some areas of the lawn look a bit weak. It's about to get hot again...is it OK to apply liquid chelated iron via hose/sprayer on KBG and PR lawn in warm temps? I've been using alfalfa meal once a month since April- no other fertilizers. Brownish/yellowish areas, although most of the lawn looks pretty good. Raising my mower height (even though I much prefer the look of a shorter cut) and of course will water during the heat wave. Should I wait for cooler temps to use the iron or use something else for a quick green up? Won't resort to my former "grass crack" habit of Miracle Grow lawn food, but it needs something! Thanks : )
