Is this grass or weed?

I moved into my new house 1 yr ago that had Bermuda lawn. This year spring I begin to notice a thicker type grass growing and now it had taken over. I like the look of the new grass but my neighbor said its weed and I should get rid of it.... So what exactly is this grass? Should I get rid of it?
