For comparison purposes, I know of people who successfully grow KBG in Georgia.

If the summer temps routinely get above 95 I think you'll have trouble with KBG.

What are you looking for in a lawn? Why KBG?

It will survive, but you have to water it every other day to help it cool off and to keep the soil from getting too hot.

I'm in Raleigh, in 2008 we had one of the hottest and driest summers on record. We had 90 degree days since April to late September, a couple of weeks of 100s... My lawn survived, it was dark green and good looking before Thanksgiving that same year.

The biggest problem with Bluegrass is fungal diseases, usually Summer Patch, Dollar Spot, Necrotic Ring Spot, and in some cases Brown Patch. This is more of a problem in areas of high rainfall, anywhere east of the Mississippi River.

Fungicides can be applied on a preventitive basis to avoid above, I don't think you will have this problem in California.

Try it and see how it does if you really like it.

Every summer we have 15-20 days above 100. Almost every day from late may to early september is above 90.

I was planning on just using TTTF but someone suggested putting in 10% KBG with the TTTF.

It is a front lawn in a housing developent. I want it to look nice, take a little wear, survive in full sun in the heat, and not take a huge amount of time every week.

It should be fine as a blend. I thought if you wanted a full KBG lawn in that location, you might be facing both winter and summer dormancy. Not much fun. As a blend you might still see both dormancies but with the fescue it will still be mostly green.
