Questions about hydroseeding (for the record, I won't be doing this NOW - maybe in 6 weeks)-

1. Can you purchase your own seed and then give it to the hydroseeding company?

2. is it possible to DIY hydroseeding? Where would one even get a hydroseeder?

RE: hydroseeding FAQ?

Late May and early June I did a DIY hydroseeding.

Here was my steps.

1. Went to lesco, got the seed, fertilizer and tack mulch.
2. Lesco gave me the proper mix for a 500 gallon tank (like 80lbs seed, 1/2 bag fertilizer, 2 bags mulch)
3. Went to rentals unlimited and rented hyrdo seeder.
4. Fill up half full of water (about 40 minutes for me).
5. Add all ingredients.
6. turn on paddles to start mixing, then continue filling up.
7. Spray on fresh top soil in an even back and forth motion.

A couple key tips.
1. Have a group of about 4 guys. One sprays, one or two to hold the hose so it isnt dragging all over the place. 1 for misc duties
2. Get the top soil prepped, we rock hounded it. When the soil is fresh and soft the hyrdoseed embeds in the soil.

IMPORTANT : WATCH WEATHER, MAKE SURE NO SERIOUS STORMS IN FORECAST ;)
