| Does something exist like this:
Say you use the 1"/week rule. Is there some sort of system that can actually use a rain gauge, hooked up to some sort of software, and at the scheduled watering day, take the total rainfall for the week, subtract it from an inch, and just water the difference? |

| So, do they go both off time AND the sensor? IOW, if watering days are set on a timer to be Thursday and Saturday, does it check on Thursday, and if moisture is sufficient, check again on Saturday, or, does it just keep a constant tally? Many areas have only certain days you can water, so the timing would be important as well. |

| The soil moisture sensors are good if they are placed deeply enough. You have to remember that 1/7" of showers a day is definitely NOT the same as 1" per week. 1/7" of rain a day is the equivalent of frequent, shallow watering. The 1" per week guideline is to ensure that the watering is deep, infrequent and all at once. Therefore, a brief shower doesn't count toward the total. |

| Should multiple sensors be used (say, 1 in each zone)? How deep, ideally, would you place the sensor on a TTTF lawn? We're looking for keeping it green and healthy, but don't necessarily need it to look like a golf course. Four inches? Six inches? |

| Do they work in an "if, then" type arrangement? Such as: If it's Thursday, and the sensor is "dry", then on, and if it's moist, then "off"? Something like that? Or, does it just constantly monitor and kick on as soon as it's a certain dryness? |
