Best warm season grass for medium traffic sandy soil

With the help of this website I've grown a bermuda lawn that is getting some envy from my neighbors in coastal NC.

My friend now wants help with his lawn which is a tad bit of centipede and mostly sand. He loves the look of my bermuda but doesn't want to mow as much (he's deploying soon and his pregnant wife isn't trying to mow in this heat twice a week)

He has kids and a small dog so I don't think centipede is a good choice with the traffic his lawn will see. What is another good option with similar wear hardiness to bermuda that grows a bit slower so she isn't mowing twice a week like I am currently?

Zoysia Empire. I have two large dogs and it handles the traffic well, I mow once a week to two weeks.
I requires much less fertilizer than bermuda (fert once a year).
Downfall, spray for cinch bugs 2-3 times a year.
