Are these crab grass?

These don't grow until July in my lawn. They have been in my lawn for the last 3 year. I didn't put any crab grass preventer (such as Scott Halt) because I have been trying to grow more grass in my lawn. If they are not crab grass, what are these? The crab grass images I saw on the web don't like these.

Thank in advance.

It sure could be. To be 100% sure I would hand pull one and compare it to images on the internet.

Have you ever seen seed heads on them? What did they look like?

I have this too, and I'm pretty sure it's not crab grass. Crab grass is much more horizontal in habit, and the blades aren't as wide. Whatever it is, I just yank it out along with the crab grass when I find it.

I was just about to post this question too. I have no idea what these are. Its starting to take over my lawn!

I used a pre-emergent, twice (early Feb and early March).

Mine just sprouted when we got in the 100s two weeks ago (in Charlotte, NC).

Anyone get answer to what type of grass/weed this is?

I just sprayed my yard with Ortho Weed b Gone with crabgrass killer. Looks like it might be dying off.
