It's bermudagrass. It's your call weather it's a weed or not.

These two plants require similar mowing height but then the care differs. Both need to be mowed low. Bermuda needs to be mowed low once or twice a week to keep it from looking shaggy with the seed heads. Centipede can be mowed once a month.

Bermuda is different in that it can take as much fertilizer as you can give it on a monthly basis. Centipede would die out with that much fertilizer.

If your soil is acidic, then you should favor the centipede. If the soil is not acidic, then centipede is a lost cause and you should favor the bermuda. Centipede can thrive with a half dose of fertilizer every other year. Bermuda will thin out with that care.
