| I have noticed that both my front and back yard have a few centipede runners that keep coming out of the turf and running on top of the grass or vertically. The grass in these areas is very thick and there is not much room when I stick my finder into the dirt. Is this just a result of not enough room for the runners to stay on the ground? I do not have much thatch at all in these spots either.

| Anyone? Is turf that is too thick bad if some runners are poking out and growing up or loose on top? |

| It is not bad. Why it happens is a mystery to me. I have seen it in both thin and dense St Augustine lawns. Could be just a growth spurt and something blocked the path long enough to force the runner to turn upwards. |
