Where do you live? Weed n feed should not be used above 85 degrees.

What kind of grass do you have? Weed n feed can kill some popular grasses.

What kind of weeds do you have? Weed n feed does not kill some kinds of weeds.

Why do you think you have grubs? Did you have beetles swarming your porch lights last month? Have you dug up some grass and found more than a dozen per square feet?

In addition after reading many complaints about weed n feed here and in other forums, the general advice is if you want to fertilize, use a fertilizer. If you want to kill weeds, use a liquid spray herbicide that you can spray lightly on individual weeds.

Live in north suburbs of Chicago. My lawn is heavy with weeds. Mostly dandelions, clover, crabgrass and some stuff that I don't know of. It is thin and doesn't seem to be real healthy. I moved in almost 2 years ago and the yard was extremely neglected. As for type of grass, have no idea. As for grubs, don't know if I have a problem. I do know, lots of skunks in the area. Not active right now but will probably be soon. Some neighbors have had grub problems. More of a precaution. A lot of skunks that tear up lawns to feed on grubs,, unhealthy lawn, time running out to apply, I have seen the damage that can occur very quickly and want to avoid it and get my lawn built up.

Will applying GrubX if you don't need it hurt the lawn? Temp might be a little high, at times. I do plan to water if needed, although, we have been getting plenty of rain recently. Night temps in upper 60s and 70s. Day temp near 90.
