For the first feeding in the summer I would recommend using a balanced fertilizer according to soil test, or a 3-1-2 ratio in lieu of a soil test. Save the SBM for the last October feeding.

how is your crabgrass issue? Did the 35-0-5 make a difference yet? Just thought I'd let you know, you inspired me to stay organic when I was so close to using 2 4 d crabgrass control I actually bought the stuff :-). I went ahead and put a bag of 35-0-5 down on Friday and watered it in but I am impatient for results!!!.

Are you planning to put fertilizer and amaze down together in September?

FWIW, I tried the 20% vinegar along the fence-line last year and it was less effective than the baking soda. Either I did something wrong or it just kills the top growth but not the roots because everything came back within a week or 2.

Nikki. I actually sent you an email last week and never heard from you about my gardening. Might have went into your junk mail or something. anyways, my crabgrass seems to really be stunted for growth right now with all this hot north Texas weather. The 35-0-5 made a big difference. After 5-5 days my bermuda greened up really nicely and has already started thickening up.

Yes I am gonna do the 35-0-5 in September and also Amaze. I'm shooting for my b-day which is Sept 11th for the application.

I found an excellent organic weed killer at Lowes. Its called "Natural weed control" It has vinegar and citrus oils and kills in a matter of 4-5 hours. Works Great!!!
