No there is nothing you can do to prevent Bermuda from going dormant. IF you tried you will damage it. Once temperatures cool down, the grass rate will slow down, way down. Once it has it first frost, it will go dormant. Do not apply any fertilizer after the point on your areas first first frost date.

Then next spring when you see it about 50% green, fertilize it. Fime the Bermuda Bible and follow it.

How do I know when the Grass has had its first frost?

On your local almanac should give you your yearly first average first frost.

Oops got a bit fast on my reply without proof reading. Last fertilizer application is 30 day before your first expected frost date. Look at your local weather almanac and see what the average frost date is in your area.
