Air conditioning drip

We moved into this house about a year ago. While the side yard where the air conditioner drains has a good slope there is always a wet spot. I tried to fix it by diging a trench about 4' long and replacing it with sand. This was a disaster.

Could someone recommend a permanent way to fix this leak problem.

RE: Air conditioning drip

I take it this is a window unit. Why do you consider a wet spot a problem? If it's because you are concerned about water against the foundation, you could place a downspout deflector under the leak to direct the water furthar out into the yard.
