prevent ryegrass from germinating

i'm looking to prevent the ryegrass from growing in my front yard this fall/winter. previous owner overseeded perennial, and i've dealt with it for the two springs i've lived there, but not this coming spring. i know i can wait until my bermuda is completely dormant and hit the rye with round up, but is there something i can do to get it before it starts to come up at all? i would rather my bermuda have zero competition come next spring.

i have a bunch of dimension, but have never put it out in the fall...only late winter for crabgrass, etc. would this prevent the perennial from coming up once thing cool off in a couple/few months? since i already have it, it would be my first choice. if so, is there a soil temperature window i should shoot for?

are there some other alternatives that won't cost an arm and a leg if the dimension won't work? would my best option be using what's typically used in the spring transition, revolver, atrazine, etc?
