Help Identifying Grass

I need help identifying this grass growing in my lawn. There are patches of it right now and want to know what it is as it grows really fast and dosen't seem to be growing anywhere else in the neighborhood. Thanks for any help you can provide!

The way its pictured there, it does not look like it.
I have had extensive battles with it and know what it looks like.
It grows in a flat, star-like pattern and the seeds usually form small thin tassels on the end. The center of the star pattern where the root is usually purpleish in color. If you pull them up the roots on them are very dense.
That , though it may be different from your other grass, looks like a wild form of field grass. I get that too but don't worry about it because it doesn't spread as fast and doesn't look very bad.
