What kind of grass is this?

This is my neighbor's lawn. The grass stays green and free of weeds without fertilizer. I am wondering if anyone can help identify what kind of grass this is. I am located about 15 miles from San Francisco, CA (USDA Zone 9, Sunset Zone 15-16/17).

Art, usually I just read this forum, "trees" is my most freqented.

I have trouble with grass identity myself. Do you think the pics at my link match your lawn?

California is wild climate wise. Everything from snow covered mountains to Sequoias to Death Valley or the ocean in a day's drive.

Is grass the norm for your area? Is your yard the greenest on the block?

Here is a link that might be useful: lawn care counselor site.
