I have a heavy infestation of poa trivialis (as best I can determine) I plan to kill off in prep for redoing lawn this fall.

Any recommendations for what's best to use?

RoundUp is very effective but any product with the same active ingredient (glyphosate) will work.

Round up is going to cost you 50% + or more than other brands. As Grass1950 said, any of the glyphosates at 41% or higher are the same thing but cheaper. You also want to look for stuff with a surfactant, if not adding a little dish soap works.

I use Pronto Big N Tuff and get it at TSC for $49 for 2.5 gallons. Prior to knowing any better, I use to use round up at $21 a quart.

One point, glyphosate is non selective and will kill anything that gets sprayed. There is a product called Tenacity? that supposedly will kill triv and not other grasses but results are varied and it is extemely expensive.

Thanks for the tip on surfactant. I had forgotten that little gem. I have used other brands of glyphosates before and always buy the concentrates.
Not being patient (a big downfall of mine), I was hoping there was something I hadn't tried that worked overnight...

Something super fast like that is not beneficial. It often happens by just burning the foliage so fast, but does not penetrate to the root system resulting in re-grow. A regular does of glyphosate makes its way slowly through the entire plant, killing it off for good. (until other seedlings sprout)
