Sodded my yard back in may and I tilled it before I did it and it is very bumpy and uneven. I live in the Mississippi Delta and probably have about 6 more weeks of heat. Is it too late to sand it and try to get it level? Just want to make sure it has enough time to grow through the sand because i know some spots are low and will be completely covered in sand.

Thanks for the reply, but what would be the harm in doing it now? Would it not be enough time for the grass to grow back? I really would like to do it this year but I don't want to kill the grass. I really would like to start next year off with a level lawn and buy a reel mower over the winter. That way I can enjoy a full season of a nice lawn and not have a leveling job to worry about in the middle of the growing season.

You can still get away with it in MS. However don't go overboard trying to do it all at once like you suggested when you said you have some that will take several inches and be buried. Even if it were say late May right you would not want to bury the grass. You need to leave the tips of the grass above the grade. So yeah you can do it once this year to get started then finish up next year with incremental applications.
