| Hello,
I just seeded the back of my yard yesterday. I aerated, mowed the lawn low, bagged the clipping and also raked the lawn to get rid of dead grass etc so the seed can have good contact with the soil. I put some seed down, then put a thin layer of soil and added more seed for good measure on top (I probably shouldn't have done this). I have two zones in the rear for my sprinkler system. I set my sprinkler to water twice a day (each zone 5 minutes at 11am and 7pm). I checked my lawn soil at 6:30pm and the soil seemed dry (like I could take a pinch of soil, put it on my palm then make it blow off my palm. Should I insert another watering at 3pm for a total of 3 times a day to water my lawn lightly? PS
Thanks, Mok |

| Yes, a third watering would be a good idea. Your first one sounds a bit late to me too. Maybe something more like 7 or 8 am, 12 or 1 pm, and then 5 or 6 pm. |

| I once read that a watering in the middle of the day is not good for the seed because the sun makes the water too hot for the seed. This is not true? |

| Seed needs to stay moist during germination, if the sprout dries out, it dies. |

| K thanks guys |
