lawns in northern wv

I live in north central wv outside on morgantown. I have three dogs and they are rough on my lawn. I grew up in NC where I could grow zoysia or bermuda. Are there any grasses that regenerate that well or are that thick that can handle this area and traffic.

Creeping bentgrass, normally thought of as a weed in turf, might work for you.

Kentucky bluegrass will fill in, but maybe not fast enough for your dogs.

Fescue is NOT the lawn for you. The dogs will claw it out and it will not refill. It would need to be reseeded every fall. And that would likely be unsuccessful with the dogs.

Have you considered putting down 6 inches of chipped tree mulch? That is excellent for dogs and will help your soil immensely.
