| Im thinking this is crabgrass, but I want to make sure. It is taken over my yard. I have sprayed it twice in the last month, and it gets worse each time.
Any advice is much appreciated. |

| It looks also like St Augustine but I think I saw some fuzzyness that would make it crabgrass. And St Augustine would have died in this heat if you sprayed it with anything. Looks like a bermuda lawn. How often do you water and for how long? How high do you mow and how often? How often do you fertilize and with what? |

| The reason you have the weeds is you water every other day for 20-25 minutes. Weed seeds love being watered every day or so. Bermuda, on the other hand, can go for a couple weeks with no water and recover nicely at the first moisture. Start backing off on the water frequency. Eventually you should be back to watering one time per week for about an hour. When the summer heat cools off, you can back off your watering to once a month for the winter. I know the grass will be dormant but the soil needs the water to do what it needs to do over the winter. Does the seed for the weed look like this crabgrass seed...
or like this orchardgrass seed...
