I think it was dchall who posted it in the past. There was a great post at one point with a basic schedule for watering new grass, starting from when the seed is planted, through germination, all the way to maturity. The schedule listed basic guidelines for amount and frequency, and the tapering of frequency and increase in duration was plainly spelled out. It was broken down by week...week 1, week 2...all the way to week 8. Where is that wonderful post hiding?

If you live in Las Vegas your watering will be different than if you live in Vermont. Adjust your watering to your type of grass, humidity, wind, and soil type. It is worth noting that this technique is used successfully by professionals in Phoenix, so...just sayin.' The other factors make a difference. If you normally water 1 inch per week and you get 1/2 inch of rain, then adjust and water only 1/2 inch that week. Mowing Fertilizing

It was something like this: http://forums2.gardenweb.com/forums/load/lawns/msg061514436388.html?7 I don't think this was it, though. I thought it was a bit more comprehensive than this. Anyone recall? (Or can put one together off the top of your head)?

Are you watering with an automated system or with hose and sprinkler?
