| I was at Ace hardware and they had some bluebird core aerators out on display to rent. The guy there said it weights about 500lbs. How the heck do people get it back to there house? That's way to heavy for my wife to help unload back at the house.
I guess rent a uhaul trailer? But that's another $20. How do you guys move these things, or do you just pay a lawn service to come aerate? |

| The rental place usually has it on a trailer already. Why do you want to aerate? What's wrong? |
|
| Don't know how strong you are but this machine can be difficult to handle and exhausting to use. Don't know what zone you are in either. Is it needed? |

| If you have a riding mower, you can buy one to pull behind for around $130.00! |

| I own a bluebird and I can tell you they aren't anywhere near 500lbs. The weight bars are 40 lbs each and removable. My wife and I can easily get it on and off a pick up. http://www.bluebirdintl.com/node4139.aspx?pid=232852 265 lbs and that's with the weight bars. |

| Yeah, no way they weigh 500 lbs. Two guys can pick it up and put it in the back of a pickup. 1 guy can roll it up a short ramp into the bed of a pickup. |

| Depends what model it is. The model 742 weighs 425 pounds. Others weight almost 300 pounds. |

| Seems to me the makers of these machines don't think about what the machine is supposed to...correct compaction. Seems to me placing the machine on the compacted soil will do exactly that...compact it. Why would you need, never mind use such a brute. Reminds me when I did my patio myself and needed to hire a tamping machine. Do you know how much they weigh? |

| I have a bluebird, and this model certainly isn't 500lbs. I would guess, with the 80lbs of plates in it, it's closer to 160lb-180lb. I always remove the plates when transporting the machine. I pity the poor guy that has to drive a 500lb. walk-behind aerator around. |
