Need some direction too many grasses growing in my yard.

Over the years this property has had the 3/4 acre lots lawn repaired by reseeding sections after yard projects damaged the grounds. The problem is now my lawn looks like a showroom for all the different types of lawn seed. I have 1/3 Ky 31 some Scotts Sun and Shade Some Kentucky blue grass and who knows what else. You can clearly see the different patches of grass almost like it was planted on purpose in sections...

I want 1 Lawn with 1 type of grass. I installed an irrigation system so here in SW Ohio Cincinnati area I would love to have a Bluegrass lawn, definently a thin blade. dark green variety.

Whats the next step, can I simply just start over seeding the same seed and it will eventually take over or do I round up the whole yard and over seed blluegrass???

From what I have read on this site (I have no personal experience with Kentucky Bluegrass) KBG is one of the slower grasses to germinate. 3 to 4 weeks usually. If you try to overseed it the existing lawn will grow back before it germinates and your KBG will not get enough sun to grow. You will end up with patches of KGB where the grass was already thin.

The best results come from killing everything and planting all new grass.

I am currently in the process of a complete renovation with Tall Fescue.
