| I put down some milorganite a week before irene, i know it's a slow release fertilizer and it's mostly water insoluble, does anyone think the amount of rain irene dumped on NJ washed it away? Or is it still sitting in my lawn. Im not sure if i should put down some more now or not? thanks. |

| In 2007, tons of Milwaukee sewage sludge "Milorganite" had to be scraped off 30 public parks and disposed in EPA licensed hazardous waste landfill because of toxic levels of carcinogenic PCBs (polychloride biphenyl ethers). In 2008 and 2009 Milwaukee had more problems with ligh levels of PCBs in their sludge biosolids. http://www.thedailygreen.com/environmental-news/latest/4284
In 2010, high levels of toxic lead (1100 parts per million) in the Milwaukee sludge biosolids spread on Kenosha, Wisconsin, farm fields greatly exceeded the EPA limit of 300 ppm in Class A EQ sludge biosolids. http://www.jsonline.com/news/wisconsin/85012452.html Sewage sludge Milorganite is a dangerous "fertilizer" which should not be used on home gardens or public parks and playgrounds where children and pets are exposed. http://www.sludgevictims.com/Class-A-sludge.html

| Very nice trolling. If all you got was rain, then it is still there. As was alluded to in the troll's post, it is a biosolid. It is made up of the baked bodies of anaerobic microbes. They are still food for your soil's microbes even after a thorough soaking. |

| If you just experienced rain, no major flooding, then the Milorganite is still there. Once the fertilizer is watered in, it works its way into the soil profile where the roots can begin to take it up. |
