Where do you buy your grass seed?

I am about two weeks away from overseeding my 6 month old lawn. I have a new construction and the builders quantity and quality of seed was less than desirable.

I am looking to get some quality KBG cultivators. Looking maybe 60-75% KBG with the rest a mix of fescue/rye mix. I really like the description of Midnight and it's dark emerald green characteristics.

I have been browsing this forum for a while now and I am getting to the point of information overload and need some help determining seed type and where to buy. Looking to buy about 25-40 pounds of quality seed and will be applying with a Toro slit seeder.

I saw some local stores near me sell a Pennington's KBG mix, but I am sure there are many better options.

Thanks in advance for any thought and feedback.

I'm in Northern Illinois in Zone 5.

I buy Midnight , Kentucky blue grass from Outside Pride in Oregon. Search Outside Pride for prices.

I found a site that sells a mix of midnight, bewitched, sudden impact (all KBG) and Fiesta 4 perennial rye/zodiac chewing fescue. *all 20%*

Seems expensive compared to big box store bags of seed. I'm sure it's a 'you get what you pay for' situation.

Trying to determine if it would be better to put down just midnight or if putting a mixed would be better?

Either a mix of just KBG or a mix of what I described above with rye and fescue.
