How do I get rid of this weird fungus? What is it?

My husband and I recently bought a house. It came with lawn fungus. This picture is of the largest patch. It is growing in an indented area in the ground. There may have been a small tree that was taken out of here in the past, but I can't tell for sure. This growth is probably 6 or 7" in diameter. It grew all through the drought this summer. We tried putting baking soda on it, which initially shrunk it down, but it's back in full force.

Yesterday my husband ripped it out. Underneath it, there were a bunch of rolly pollies. They were orange. A wolf spider crawled out. It was also orange. I don't know if that has to do with the baking soda from a few months ago or the fungus. We have a few other smaller spots of this throughout the yard. Anyone know what this is, and how to get rid of it for good? It's really nasty.

They look like wild Forrest mushrooms. Really does not matter what type they are the presence of wood lice (Rolly Polly) indicates it is decaying wood below the surface.
