 o
KBG Issue

Have a good looking 20 year old lawn of KBG that has not had major issues. I have a concern over the last 2 years in a small area. Seems a several cirlce of dead grass in a ring with good grass in the middle. Looks like ring spot or Summer Patch from what I have read. This has happenned in the same 2 spots for the last 2 years. Since it was a small area, I just bought a small roll of KBG and re-sodded. Will this come back and what precautions within reason should i consider.
My fertilizer is a mix of chemical and organic and I water deeply but infrequentlty with irrigation and cut at 3.5 inches.

3.5" is pretty tall. I cut KBG at 2.5"

How big are the spots? Does the grass green up in the spring? Does the circle grow over time?

RE: KBG Issue

I had a couple of circles in my yard that wouldn't go away. The grass always looked sickly in 2 rings in the same spots. I finally got tired of it and planned on digging up the dirt so I could plant new grass. I immediately hit a brick, then another, and another, you know the deal. I guess a long time ago someone had small trees with brick borders around them. The brick eventually got buried and the trees died/got chopped down.

After removing all the bricks the grass now grows nicely there.

The rings are about the size of a trash can lid. They do not fully grow back in. Also, nothing under them like bricks since i replaced the soil when I re-sodded the rings.
