You need someone to come in and do finish grading for you. Looking over the distance I can see where the soil cups upward which will hold water. That's not good. It should crown in the middle so that water drains off. The tool to do that is a box blade. Here's a picture.

Note the tool has ripper tines in the up position. Those can be lowered to rip out the roots for you. To do that area would take a good operator about an hour or less. He may have a 3-hour minimum, but that's what you need. He will determine whether you need more or less soil and will make arrangements for that for you. Once the box blade is finished, your soil will be ready for seed or sod. When you do either one, be sure to roll the sod or seed down with a water fillable roller. That will ensure you have good seed-to-soil contact.

Sadly, we can't afford to sod the entire acre. We're lucky that the soil quality is fantastic in this area, and there seems to be lot of soil available. The problem are the roots left from cutting...if we could just get rid of those roots, we'd be in great shape.
