| I would like to put down some centipede sod on the sloping bank of a ditch that is now mostly weeds. I cut the weeds with a trimmer a couple of weeks ago, and they are beginning to sprout. I first thought I would just lay the sod and take care of any weeds by mowing. But I am wondering if it might be better to spray the weeds with Roundup to try to prevent them from coming back up through the sod. If spraying is the best route, can I go ahead and lay the sod right after spraying, or should I wait for the weeds to die? I would prefer not leaving the bank bare for a substantial time because of erosion. |
